Puñihuil: La secreta joya del sur del mundo

Amigos ustedes pueden apreciar nuestra excursión veraniega a las pinguineras de Puñihuil que como bien dice su nombre en mapudungun es un lugar para "estar en calma". A 27 kilómetros desde la Plaza de Armas de Ancud se sitúa este hermoso lugar que se caracteriza por tener tres islotes que son Monumento Natural, en los cuales se puede observar conviviendo a pingüinos magallánicos y de Humboldt, que cada año llegan en primavera para anidar entre la tranquilidad del lugar. En este valioso ecosistema comparten su hábitat con diversas especies marinas que enriquecen el sector, que es colindante con una caleta de pescadores, los cuales dividen sus días en la extracción de luga, choros y almejas o en realizar los paseos solicitados por los turistas en sus propias embarcaciones. Así pueden llevarse la estampa de un paraíso secreto en el sur del mundo.

Parque alerce andino

Nuestro circuito se adentra en este parque que comprende 20 mil hectáreas de bosques de alerces, ubicados en la zona montañosa de la Región de Los Lagos. Esta conífera de lento crecimiento y excelente madera, se encuentra en peligro de extinción y este lugar es un refugio para su preservación.
Aunque el alerce es el árbol predominante, en este parque se encuentran otras especies típicas del Bosque Siempreverde: coigüe, lenga, mañío, tineo, canelo y tepa, entre otros. Además usted se puede maravillar con las pequeñas lagunas escondidas entre los bosques y la montaña. Existe en el parque senderos y refugios que le permitira recorrer todo este santuario de la naturaleza.

Alerce Andino National Park

Su arquitectura fue inspirada en la iglesia Mariekirche de la provincia de Selva negra en Alemania. Sus revestimientos exteriores son de Planchas de fierro acanaladas en muros y tejuelas de alerce en cubiertas, los revestimientos interiores: Maderas nativas de mañio y laurel. Declarado monumento nacional en 1992 es la postal de esta región del mundo.

Es parte de la Reserva Nacional Llanquihue, administrada por CONAF. A existido un registro historico de actividad volcanica la más importante es de 1893.
