En la costa Pacífico de la Isla de chiloé, a unos 25 Km. al sudoeste de Ancud, en una hermosa bahía, se encuentran tres islotes muy cercanos a la playa de sector. Este lugar es conocido como Puñihuil, acoge a un tesoro de la naturaleza : "Las Pinguineras". Lo que hace único a los islotes de Puñihuil es la presencia de cientos de pinguinos Magallanicos y de Humboldt que conviven en un istmo ecosistema, dos especies que luchan por su subsistencia.

In the Pacific coast of the Island of chiloé, to 25 km. to the southwest of Ancud, in a beautiful bay, are three small barren islands very near the sector beach. This place is known like Puñihuil, welcomes in a treasure of the nature: "The Pinguineras". What makes only to small barren islands of Puñihuil is the presence of hundreds of pinguinos Magallanicos and the Humboldts that coexist in an isthmus ecosystem, two species that fight by their subsistence.
